About Us
We offer accommodation in two fully equipped apartments in the quiet and picturesque village of Soline, in the northwestern part of Dugi Otok. The apartments are located next to the sea and are situated only 30 meters from the nearest pebble beach in the village and 10-minute walk from one of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic coast, Sakarun bay. If you want to spend your vacation in a quiet environment decide to come to Soline and to Apartments Carić. Only two apartments located in a private family house allow you to spend your holiday in peace and quiet, and enjoy the beautiful and unobstructed view of the sea. If you want to see the beauty of Long Island, we will gladly direct you to the most beautiful and most picturesque locations which this island has in abundance.

Both apartments are located on the ground floor and have a surface area of 40m2. They consist of a terrace overlooking the sea, a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and a living room. Guests have a parking space within the private parking, and the possibility of using common grill.
ABOUT THE ISLAND
Long Island is the largest island in group of northern Dalmatian islands with its length of about 45 km and a width of between 1 and 4 km, with the highest peak Vela Straža (338 m). On the island in 11 villages, lives about 1500 inhabitants. The main road is connecting all the places on the island and along its entire length provides magnificent views of the surrounding islands. Transport connection of Long Island to the mainland is maintained by ferries and fast boats. If you choose to spend your vacation on Long Island, there are several sites that are definitely not to be missed: Nature Park Telašćica and the salt lake on the south side of the island, one of the most beautiful beaches in Croatia - Sakarun, beautiful beach Veli žal and other countless isolated bays, imposing Veli Rat lighthouse on the north-western tip of Long Island, Strašna peć and underground maritime tunnels in Dragove.

Soline
Soline are located in the northwestern part of the island, in the Solišćica bay. The place is named after the saltworks that were located in the bay. It was first mentioned in documents as far back as 1114. that makes it one of the oldest settlements on Long Island. In Soline is a church of Sv. Jakov, which was first mentioned in the 15th century. Every year, July 25th the traditional "Solinska fešta" is organized which begins with a mass at St. Jakovs church and ends with live music in the evening. The village is connected with the other villages on the island and the ferry port in Brbinj by the main island road.

Long Island beaches
In the immediate vicinity of Soline is situated one of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic Sea and beyond - Sakarun bay. Sakarun bay is around 800 m long and extends over 80 hectares with the sea depth up to 10 meters. The specialty of this beach is a fine white sand in the sea, and out of the sea, on the beach, are gravel and specific stone pebbles. This sandy beach with turquoise blue sea is all you need for a perfect holiday. Sea paradise for lovers of summer joy, every year is more and more popular among tourists and its untouched nature is a real invitation to rest your body and soul. If you go down the village road to the south, it will bring you to another pearl of Dugi Otok - beach Veli žal. Veli žal is a pebble beach in front of the island Mežanj on an uninhabited part of the island with magnificent view of the open sea, and near the village of Dragove. The beach is accessible by a well-marked asphalt road, and then by 5 minute walk from the parking, depending which place you choose on the beach that is over a kilometer in length. Mostly made of the gravel, and in some places rocks, while the sea bottom in sandy. Veli žal, is ideal for all-day rest and enjoying the pleasures of the sea, even in peak season, possibly until sunset that here "sets into the sea." In the northwestern tip of Dugi Otok you will enjoy the pleasures of the sea in the shadow of the Veli Rat lighthouse. Many legends are associated with this lighthouse like the one that the facade interesting yellow color is made by 100,000 egg yolks, which is still relevant. Next to the lighthouse is the chapel of St. Nicholas, the patron saint of sailors, in which is preserved Roman Missal of 1869. Several bays with sandy beaches are ideal to enjoy both in the sea and the beautiful views that surround you.

Nature park Telašćica
Telašćica bay is located in the southeastern part of the island, surrounded by 13 islands and islets, includes six islands within the bay, and was proclaimed a nature park in 1988. The status of the protected area was given to Telašćica in 1980 thanks to its exceptionally valuable plant and animal life, geological and geomorphological phenomena, valuable seafloor community and interesting archaeological heritage. Three basic phenomena are the main characteristics of this area: the unique bay of Telascica as the safest, most beautiful and largest natural port in the Adriatic Sea where 25 small beaches are located, cliffs of the island of Dugi Otok, or so-called "walls" that rise to 161 meters above sea level and descend a depth of 90 m, and finally the salt lake "Peace" with healing charasteristics.

Strašna peć
Cave Strašna peć exudes harmony, which in accordance with the blue Adriatic Sea and the island's scenery provides an indescribable experience. During the Neolithic prehistoric man lived in it , which is confirmed by archaeological findings. First mentioned back in 1898 in the Zadar newspaper Il Dalmata, although the knowledge of it existed even earlier. For the first time in 1900. the cave was researched and arranged for visitors. This cave is a tourist, ecological and historically interesting destination which is now torn from oblivion. Military maritime tunnels
Located in Dragove these undersea tunnels are another attraction of Dugi Otok you should visit. The impressive structure is a perfect place for lovers of historical sites and it is possible to walk through part of the tunnel. The tunnels were built during the JNA as a shelter for war fleet. Apart from this tunnel in Dragove, another one was built at the same time and for the same purpose, and it is located in the bay Zagračina north of the village of Božava.
